Google Calendar will stop sending reminders by SMS




Google will stop sending text messages to users who have set reminders in Calendar. According to the Internet giant is sms redundant as smartphones today have better ways of remembrance.

From June 27, there are no more text messages sent in memory. It appears from a report that Google has placed on the support website Calendar. Reason for stopping SMS reminders that this feature has been introduced for the dawning of the era of smartphones: devices today have reliable and expanded opportunities to remind a user of an appointment, according to Google.

While for ordinary users the ability to disappear SMS reminders, this does not apply to corporate users of Google Apps. The software that Google provides educational institutions and governments retain support for reminders via SMS.

Earlier this month it was announced that the Google calendar application Timeful takes over . This is smart diary software that the user needs help to share his time. The functions of the application are likely over time built into Google’s own calendar application.
