Google gets significantly more removal requests after amendment search algorithm
Google received substantially more removal requests during the week of October 20th. The company then got a whopping 11.7 million requests within. Recently, Google announced sites lower in the search results will place as for entering many removal requests.
The number of 11.7 million requests almost three-quarters higher than the number of two weeks before, then the company received “only” 6.7 million requests. This is evident from the transparency report from Google. A week before the sudden spike, the number of removal requests already to nearly 8 million.

This algorithm has the effect that the sites for which a lot of removal requests come in, lower end up in the search results. This copyright holders now have an additional motivation to many removal requests.
