Google would work on a new version of News, in which content from the digital magazine Newsstand and video site YouTube is processed. How the new service will look exactly is not yet clear.

Ad Age reports this on the basis of unnamed sources that would be familiar with the plans. The new version of News could be shown during Googles own I / O developer conference; Google I / O is next Tuesday to Friday in Mountain View, near the headquarters of Google.

According to the sources there is a new version of News, including an improved app. Newsstand content, the little popular digital magazine service, would be incorporated into this, after which Newsstand itself ceased to exist. YouTube videos would also be integrated into News. And to load the whole thing faster would use amp, or Accelerated Mobile Pages, which Google already uses to speed up the display of web pages.

Google News now mainly shows links to news pages about a certain topic, similar to how the Internet giant’s search engine works. According to an anonymous source of Ad Age, the new version should cover all news content that is found on Google’s various platforms.
