Google is looking for a partner to create self-propelled vehicles




Google is looking for a partnership with a car manufacturer to help produce his self-propelled vehicle on the road. Meanwhile, the Internet giant in the process of creating a new and more advanced version of its self-driving car.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal showed Chris Urmson, Google head of the branch working on self-driving cars, know that his company is looking for car manufacturers to work with. Discussions are already underway with potential partners, but there was not told when to whom this right. “We want no automaker itself,” said Urmson. A partnership must ensure that in five years, self-propelled vehicles on the market.

For now Google itself works on the construction of self-propelled vehicles, using parts manufacturers. A new “beta one ‘model is under development which should be more advanced than previous self-propelled cars. Beginning in 2015, these cars are tested on the road. It is still unclear what features get the beta one models exactly.

Google has been working on self-propelled vehicles and developed this year a model without a steering wheel and pedals that can run completely independently from A to B with a touch of a button. In the Netherlands comes next year, legislation to allow self-propelled cars under certain conditions.
