Google makes adjustments in Android by which to ensure that users once after logging in are then automatically logged to Play Games, with any game that supports the API. This is possible because the API requires less permissions.

Currently, Android users need every time they install a new game to log in to the Play Games api. For example, is used for the cloud save feature and tracking achievements. With the changes proposed in the Android Developer Blog, there is no longer a game, but per account logged into the api.

The simplification of the logging is possible because the API no longer requires access to the Google+ account of the user; game services can be used independently thereof. Once a user has logged in, they will receive a Player ID, which other games can then automatically log in the Play Games api. Users will not get any pop-ups anymore when launching new games.

Developers may still choose to request access to the Google + account, that want to use certain data of the player in the game. Users can then choose to display it or deny access.

According to Google, it should be possible to turn off automatic login using the settings in the Play Games App. Google is not known when the changes are made. Users must probably wait for an update for Play Games or Play Services.
