Google maps alerting users of rail in the United States




A new report has revealed a new feature in Google maps, users are expected to arrive soon in the United States, is warning users when approaching intersections of railways.

The report from the site of the New York Times that the Federal Railroad Administration will soon announce a partnership with Google to add important feature within Google maps Maps, to try to reduce road accidents.

Where Google will cooperate with the u.s. Department of transportation to take data on all rail crossings in the United States and select the Google Maps application, and will alert users when using the navigation on the approaches to the crossings.

And these actions are expected to contribute to reducing the incidence of accidents resulting from railway junctions, rail accidents in the United States by 9% last year, and 270 people died last year due to such incidents.

The report also States that the federal railways management to communicate with some other maps providers such as Apple which offers special service organs, as well as mapping service known as “Tom Tom TomTom to add alert users when approaching intersections.
