Google: Netherlands has highest tablet and laptop use




Netherlands has the highest percentage of people that use a tablet or laptop, according to research from Google. In addition, the study shows that the Dutch are more online than neighboring European countries like Germany and Belge.

A whopping 76 percent of the Dutch are currently using a laptop and 51 percent use a tablet, claiming Google based on the Connected Consumer survey, the search engine company by research firm TNS had conducted. That’s more than Germany, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Other countries not listed on the accompanying research infographic, but according to Joris Merks, Head of Branding Solutions Google, the Netherlands has the highest 51 percent of tablet penetration in the world. With a rate of 65 percent the number of smartphone users is behind, for example South Korea, the United Kingdom and Australia. Dutch also have many devices with a screen in the house, an average of 3.6.

Where in 2012 and 2013, 81 percent of the Dutch indicated to be online every day that rose in 2014 to 84 per cent. Thus Netherlands is among the best in Europe. In the UK, the percentage is 83 percent, while it is 78 percent in Germany and 74 percent in Spain. Compared to other countries worldwide, Dutch also prove avid internet buyers: 65 percent of the Dutch buys least once a month over the internet. In Germany, 64 percent in Spain and is 41 percent. However, there are countries where a higher percentage of online consumers.
