The teardown of the Pixel 3 XL by iFixit shows that the 6.3 “screen is an amoled from Samsung, or Google also uses a Samsung OLED screen in the smaller Pixel 3 is not yet clear, iFixit does not have that device yet It is likely that Google also uses a Samsung screen in the regular Pixel 3, this was also the case in the Pixel 2.

When Google released the Pixel 2 XL last year, some users had complaints about the screen. LG’s OLED panel would burn quickly and as a result of complaints Google came up with measures , such as lowering the maximum brightness, to save the pixels of the screen.

Samsung owns the vast majority of the market for OLED screens for smartphones. The panels that Samsung gives the amoled brand name are for example in iPhones and in Samsung’s own Galaxy devices. In addition to Samsung, LG also makes oled panels for telephones, but the manufacturer’s market share is much smaller. Sharp recently showed his first smartphone with an OLED screen from his own factory. In the long run, the Japanese manufacturer also wants to supply OLED panels to other brands.
