Google replaces Dalvik by ART in Android

Changes in the repository of the Android Open Source Project, which manufacturers as the basis for the Android versions on their smartphones and tablets use, point out that the old Dalvik compiler is finally replaced the newer ART.

Android logo Google had the ART compiler already set as standard in its own Android repository, but the changes are now pushed to the repository of the Android Open Source Project. Manufacturers use the code repository as a source for the Android installations on their smartphones and tablets.

Thus it seems likely that Google Dalvik permanently in exchange for the ART. Next week about possibly more familiar: then keep Google I / O developer conference in San Francisco. Incidentally, not all apps made for ART, including Xposed framework, which is popular among modders.

It involves a total of two amendments , which were XDA-Developers noted . Combining the two commits Dalvik, while ART is set as default. In Android 4.4, both compilers exist side by side: users can choose to select ART compiler itself but Dalvik is used by default.

Dalvik has long been used in Android. Dalvik is a just-in-time compiler code is only converted to machine code at run time. ART put the code of apps right at all to install to machine code. Partly because ART efficient than Dalvik.
