Google researcher will shortly publish critical vulnerability in TrueCrypt

A researcher from Google shortly publish a critical vulnerability in TrueCrypt. This attackers can create an exploit, making the encryption program is definitely not to use more safely. There is no patch for the encryption program.

The researcher says on Twitter that he wait seven days after a developer has released a patch to bring out details in order to reduce the probability of an exploit of the leak. Because fork Vera Crypt patch released last Saturday, he put the details supposedly coming weekend online. Users of TrueCrypt can not protect against an exploit of the leak, because the developers some time ago stopped updating TrueCrypt.

The critical vulnerability is with a different, less critical flaw in the driver TrueCrypt and Vera Crypt install on Windows machines, reports ITWorld. Because the leak could allow an attacker more management rights to an account that it did not own. The leak makes use of the assignment of letters to disks.
