Google CEO Sundar Pichai says it wants to exercise more control over the Nexus smartphones with Android. Thus, the manufacturers would have less impact on phones they make, in close collaboration with Google.

The change would be the last step by Google to Nexus phones more as to Apple’s iPhone, which is from design to implementation by Apple controlled, writes The Information. This brand Android should be better for the day in the high-end market that is dominated by Apple.

With step the manufacturers would like Huawei and HTC are treated as hardware partners, like Apple does with Foxconn. In the future, it might even be that the phones only win over the Nexus brand. Google developed several Nexus phones with different manufacturers, such as LG, Motorola and Huawei.

With the step Google seems to look more at how Apple makes money, namely hardware, while Apple seems once again to have more time in his stabbing existing and new online services.
