Google+ wants to protect your data volume by intelligent photo-rendering
Anyone who travels on social networks knows the problem: especially large or high-resolution images load depending on the connection speed and also cut off a lot of data volume. Just when you see the respective photo anyway only on a small smartphone display, that can annoy. Here, Google wants to once again provide some help in Google+. The aim is to combine a new technique called “Raisr (Rapid and Accurate Image Super-Resolution) with machine learning. Basically, this is a fairly efficient scaling technique, which also calculates higher resolutions from low-resolution images.
