Google wins lawsuit in Germany regarding indexing news




Google does the German authorities not to pay for indexing news from German publishers. The latter had strongly recommended. Earlier, parliament passed a law which already indexing news is limited.

That says Reuters based on a decision of the German Bundeskartellamt, acting partly as competition watchdog. According to Google, the authorities have to pay to a group of German publishers called VG Media indexing of news in his search any money. Earlier, the internet giant had to settle in Belgium and France.

Previously took the German parliament already a law making it possible for companies like Google to index news broadcasts. However, it is only allowed to take over. The Bundeeskartellamt also said that the ‘scope’ of the new placement by legislation is not yet fully clear. Whether that means that Google may in future be required to take the news publishers a license still is not clear. Google had already know that it has no plans to pay for indexing news.
