Guillermo Del Toro may work on Silent Hills successor
Film director Guillermo Del Toro has posted a tweet which serves as a signal that he may still working on a new game in the style of Silent Hill. If this is true, he is probably in conjunction with renowned game designer Hideo Kojima.
Del Toro and Kojima worked in the past along with horror game Silent Hills. The game, which would be published by Konami even had a playable demo got called PT, or Playable Teaser. In the course of developing Konami decided for unknown reasons to the power project pull . Subsequently took Del Toro for not working on videogames, left Kojima at Konami finally and again after the two decided nevertheless to set up a cooperation again outside the Japanese publisher.
If this project where the two are working on, it will no longer be called Silent Hill. The franchise rights are in fact still in the hands of Konami, like for instance the rights of the Metal Gear franchise, the spirit child of Kojima.
The demo of the game is at the time it was available downloaded more than a million times and the cancellation of Silent Hills did back then a stir. In the time that all hope seemed to be more of a Silent Hill game resulting from a collaboration between the two men, another game developer has even taken it upon themselves to make a game in the same style. That game Allison Road and developed by game studios Lilith and published by Worms developer Team17.
The tweet that Del Toro posted on April 30, includes a screenshot of PT accompanied by the Spanish words for “good night.”
