Hacker gets hundreds of documents US Democratic party online
A hacker named “Guccifer 2.0 ‘has released hundreds of pages of documents, which he claims to have captured a server of the Democratic National Committee, the main governing body of the American Democratic Party.
Among the documents are the election plans of potential Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and a report on its opponent Donald Trump. In addition, there can be found documents about donations to the Democrats. In his blog post refers to the hacker on the analysis after the hack was carried out by security Crowd Strike.
The company claimed that the hack was performed by two parties linked to Russian intelligence. These would be known as’ cozy bear ‘and’ fancy bear “, or respectively CozyDuke / APT29 and Sofacy / APT28. The latter party was also recently by Germany as a responsible designated for the hack at the Bundestag. According Crowd Strike were these parties since the summer of 2015 present in the systems of the DNC.
But now the hacker claims that he himself has performed the hack and that he was flattered by the terms of the security company. He added that it was “very easy” to penetrate the servers. The published documents also appear to contradict that no financial documents are captured, the findings of Crowd Strike. The company responds in an update to his post on the blog post from the hacker and states that it maintains its own findings. It also states that the blog post may be a confusion attempt by Russian security services.
Guccifer 2.0 claims to have redirected much of the captured data to WikiLeaks and that the site will publish it soon. Crowd Strike gives yet to examine the authenticity of the documents. A security researcher, however, informs Ars Technica that it is possible that the data are real. The other possibility is that it is counterfeit documents, but in that case there was much research and preparation for, says the researcher.
The name ‘Guccifer’ refers to the eponymous Romanian hacker , responsible for attacks on the families of former presidents Bush and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.Viewing:-94
