Hackers broke into the client Snapchat and gained access to 100,000 private photos

Hackers posted a net of about 100,000 users of the service private photos Snapchat. Access to this data cracks obtained using the discovered vulnerability in a third-party mobile application that maintained send pictures and video.

According to one version, the source of leakage was client for Android called Snapsave. On the other – to access the content could be obtained through the website SnapSaved.com, capture, send and store messages Snapchat through a browser. The program also kept all sent messages and video, along with the names of senders and recipients.

Base photo was posted on the site viralpop.com. At the moment it does not work, however, until it closed access to the database to several thousand people. Directory size exceeds 13 GB.

As indicated by an anonymous forum 4chan, among the “leak” a lot of child pornography (almost half the audience Snapchat – young people aged 13-17 years). Exchanging nude photos and videos, teens believed that their message will automatically disappear after a while.

Snapchat representatives said that the company’s servers were not subjected to the attack, and that the source of leaks are third-party applications, the use of which is a violation of the user agreement.

“We confirm that the servers Snapchat never been hacked and not the source of these ‘leaks’. People have been suffering due to the use of third-party applications to send and receive SNAP – said the administration service. – This practice is banned user agreement, since it jeopardizes the safety of users. We closely monitor the App Store and Google Play for the presence of illegal applications and have achieved the removal of many of them. ”

In Snapchat stressed that the official client users Snapchat nothing to worry about.
