Hamsters have prompted scientists how to make agricultural roboshar

We met different robots are wheeled, tracked, robots with wings , arms, legs , and even tails . It was the turn of spherical machines. Spanish scientists have developed a robot in the shape of a ball, and taught him to move on the principle of a hamster running in a wheel. Rosphere – the so-called agricultural robot that will help farmers in the study of the soil.

Development engineers belongs to the Polytechnic University of Madrid, who were looking for a way to travel unhindered through difficult terrain. The unusual shape of the robot makes its move on any surface. The robotic ball moves freely through the grass, earth and concrete. Even the mud and the sand is not an obstacle to it.

Inside Rosphere is a mechanism that constantly shifts the center of gravity, causing the robot to move. Wheels mounted on the ends of the drive shaft, make smooth turns, writes the British news agency BBC.

Unfortunately, Rosphere is not completely autonomous. In its current form the robot is controlled by the operator of wireless communications through a laptop. To teach him to orient himself in space, more research, according to a study published in the Journal of Industrial Robot.

Rosphere is part of a larger project funded by the European Commission with the aim of creating an army of agricultural robots.
