HDI Dune HD media player has new solo 4K announced

Electronics manufacturer HDI has a new addition to its lineup media players, the Dune HD Solo 4K. The player can play a variety of formats, including hevc video, also known as h.265 with a maximum color depth of 10bits.

Dune HD 4K Solo uses the Sigma SMP8758 processor with built-in 4K support and 1GB ram. Also, the unit automatically scales content to 4k via VXP and supports all modern 3D video standards, such as MVC, SBS and TnB. That all goes through a HDMI 1.4b connector allows up to 30Hz can be achieved in 4K resolution and 120Hz at 1080p values.

External storage can be used from USB media via one of the two USB ports, but there is also a 2.5 “HDD bay which hot-swap functionality supports. The device itself has 4GB internal storage memory for system files and applications . Furthermore, the solo 4K features a Gigabit Ethernet port and WiFi 802.11ac with support for both the 2.4 and 5.0GHz dual-band antennas. The media player can also be used as a WiFi access point or router. On smarthome- installations is also thought through Control4 or an optional Z-Wave controller.

Dune HD Solo 4K features dual-boot functionality with the classic Linux-based Dune HD media player or interface with Android. According to the specification refers to the latest version of the operating system, Android 6.0 right now.

The Dune Solo HD 4K is available from February and a suggested retail price of 299 euro note.
