Headphones Philips Fidelio M2L – first with the Lightning Pavel Dmitriev cleg clegger c1egger
Last six months, Apple never stopped supplying us with various information reasons connected with headphones, since buying Beats and ending with a very unexpected news that in the future, manufacturers will be able to produce headphones that connect to port Lightning . Despite the apparent strangeness, the latest news was true, and the first headphones to Lightning announced. Surprisingly, they are not producing tandem Beats / Apple, and Philips.
The new model of headphones, announced Philips, has an index of Fidelio M2L and refers to the top of the range headphones company. I surveyed the X1 Fidelio , Fidelio S2 and Fidelio L1 and was surprised by their quality, design and good sound. This model is clearly a development of overhead headphones Fidelio M1, but with a brand new one for the connection. What are the benefits?
Apple recently much easier for developers accessories certification procedure under the program Made-For-iPhone / iPad / iPod (MFi). This allows companies to partner Apple access to certain hardware features iUstroystv. In the case of headphones, it is possible to obtain a sound signal in digital form rather than analog, as is the case when connecting to the headphone jack. Why is this necessary?
The fact that the chip corresponding to the iPhone / iPad for converting digital audio to analog, produces mediocre sound. Apple logic is simple: this “average” sound suitable for most users, so why increase the cost of the device, for the sake of unnecessary features? Because of this, external devices, converting the digital signal into music with a quality better than the iPhone, are becoming increasingly popular among the lovers of good sound. It is not surprising that they were combined with headphones, and the first “swallow” just became a product from Philips (or already WOOX).
In the past, Philips has been an unsuccessful attempt to make an accessory exclusively for iPod / iPhone: SHN6000 headphones connected to the device and offered additional control buttons, but the lack of a microphone and a simple plastic form with the product played a cruel joke, and he “did not take off.” The company took into account past problems and M2L explicitly refer to the products with premium design.
The headphones are made in the same “expensive” design as the rest of the products Fidelio, so we are waiting for metal, leather, comfortable ear cups with memory and hope, good sound, thanks to the 40 mm neodymium emitters.
In the headphones are built to-analog converter and amplifier power they seem to be getting away from the phone (this is my guess) that will allow them to play music at a higher resolution than the standard 44.1 kHz / 16-bit (as a guess). Sales will begin in December, priced at 250 euros.
The most surprising part of this story is that the company Beats did not in this case the first, although it had all the cards for this, starting with direct access to Apple engineers and finishing experience in creating headphones with active amplifier in the past.Viewing:-143
