Here Maps stops supporting Windows Mobile 10
Here Maps is from May 29 no longer available in the Windows Store and the service after June 30 not to use Windows 10 Mobile. The navigation continues to work on Windows Phone 8, but get a map updates.
The Lord apps worked on Windows 10 through a work-around, but it stops at 30 June, let the development team know . “If we wanted to continue to offer the Lord apps for Windows 10, we would have the apps have to build from the ground up, a scenario that the decision has led to meet our apps from the Windows 10-store,” reads the blog of the service.
The developers recommend that Windows users use Windows Maps for navigation and maps. This Microsoft service is partly based on the Lord Platform. The Lord apps continue to function on Windows Phone 8, but the developers are limited to fixing bugs in the OS. The service will not receive updates with new maps.
Here was a large division of Nokia, which had owned the card material with the acquisition of Navteq in 2007, when the phone part of Nokia was acquired by Microsoft, Lord was not part of, but Microsoft did get a license because of the use of the technology. The Lord then came apps available for iOS and Android. Last year sold Nokia map division to a consortium of automakers, including BMW, Audi and Daimler.
