HGST brings nvme-SSD on the market
By HGST in September 2014 announced NVMe UltraStar SN100-SSD’s available. The versions that come as PCI-E add-in card are available immediately. The SSDs come in May in a 2.5 “-form factor on the market.
The new Ultrastar-SN100-SSDs are designed for data centers with server of HGST and then especially the Flash Software Suite and HGST Device Manager. The manufacturer says that the combination with its own flash software yields a performance gain to sixty percent without changing the existing MySQL architecture.
The SN100 is 310,000 I / O operations per second in combined read and write workloads and the number of IOPS for random read and write is 160,000 and 743,000 respectively. The sequential read and write speed is successively 3000MB / s and 1600MB / s. HGST claims that organizations can get thanks nvme standard improved performance of servers at a lower cost.
The SN100 will be available as HH-HL-PCI-E add-in card with 1,6TB or 3,2TB storage. The 2.5 “hot-swap SFF -drive is available with a storage capacity of 800GB, or 1,6TB 3,2TB.
