HMD: Nokia 9 is coming in early 2019

HMD will introduce the Nokia 9 in early 2019, according to the company’s statements. The system with five cameras that the smartphone has according to directions, caused the company a headache.

A German spokesperson for HMD let Winfuture announce at the announcement of the Nokia 8.1 that a real flagship model of the company will be announced shortly, with the name Nokia 9 falling several times. She said there was some delay, because the camera quality was not yet to the satisfaction of HMD. In doing so, it indirectly confirms reports that HMD and manufacturer Foxconn encountered challenges in production. From the Nokia 9 specifications, images and renders came online , showing that the device has five cameras at the back.

In an interview with Winfuture , the spokeswoman also announced that Nokia has sold 70 million phones in the past two years, including so-called feature phones. The Nokia 6.1 is the most sold model. HMD continues to focus primarily on the mainstream market of smartphones from 300 to 400 and admits that its top models, such as the Nokia 8 Sirocco, have not yet brought the success that was hoped for. Next year there will be new top models, but in 2020 and 2021 Nokia wants to focus more on the higher segment.

Furthermore, HMD reported that the naming scheme works so that after the Nokia 6 and 6.1, for example, 6.2 and 6.3 are to be expected. In addition, the Finnish company does not intend to reissue retrieval phones in a new way, such as the Nokia 3310 and the Nokia 8110.
