Homefront: The Revolution Preview – Depart from the beaten track
Oh, what the expectations were high, then Homefront in 2011 came on the market. And oh, what was disappointing when it appeared that the game offered a short game too much expensive to be worth the money. What has gone wrong during the development of the game has never been cleared up, but it is clear that the game beforehand offer much more than what seemed to be the end result ultimately voorschotelde. The first part was not what everyone hoped, give the makers of Homefront: The Revolution freely admit. That is not so difficult; they have nothing to do with it. The first part was made by the US Kaos Studios, not long after the game’s release would be sucked into the bankruptcy of publisher THQ.

It also seemed like the end of Homefront, to developer Crytek stepped forward and offered money for the rights to the series. Not crazy, since THQ developing the second part in the series had entrusted to Crytek UK. So Crytek could hold their own studio to work and add a nice title to its catalog. Yet thus the future of this second part of the series still not secured. Not long after Crytek had bought the rights, it ran into heavy weather. As a result, had to close the first Crytek UK, then the rights Homefront sales to publisher Deep Silver, which then the former staff of Crytek UK hired by the newly founded Deep Silver Dambuster Studios. It seems quite complex, but actually has therefore always the same group of developers working on the game. That alone was under the care of various publishers with a different name plate above the door. That is exactly the reason why we record the story here. If you have the impression that the development of the new Homefront runs messy: it’s not that bad. There have been years by the same group of British developers tinkered.
That group had actually directly after the command to create the game got an idea about the direction they wanted to walk it. Yes, the first part was short, but that was not what the team saw new opportunities. As part of Crytek developers naturally make use of the CryEngine, which is where the team saw new opportunities. With the new engine, it is possible to Homefront: The Revolution to create an open, uninterrupted game world. That in turn makes it possible to release the linear character of the first game.Viewing:-158
