Hospital reports data leak after theft privélaptop Patient Data

A privélaptop of an employee of the Dutch Isala hospital, containing data of 504 patients was stolen. According to hospital policy data could not be installed on a device for private use.

It is a spreadsheet with data from patients who are treated by the Department of Plastic Surgery. are names in the document, patient numbers, birth dates, and medical data about carpal tunnel syndrome. The hospital has been notified of a data breach in the Personal Authority and informed the relevant patients.

In a statement writes the hospital that the data on a privélaptop an intern state. Who reported to the police of theft; the laptop has not been recovered. Isala says to do research to prevent such an incident occurring again. It also has its privacy and information brought to the attention of its staff.
