Find a Question:
House of Representatives agrees to maintain strong encryption
The Lower House approved Tuesday a motion against the weakening of encryption software. Thus the government’s position will be maintained for strong encryption. The motion was submitted by Kees Verhoeven D66 and Astrid Oosenbrug of the Labour Party.
Politicians show Tuesday that the motion is adopted and that only the PVV and CDA have voted against. The document states that “the encryption of Internet traffic is essential to our security” and that the weakening of encryption may have a negative impact because the communications of citizens and businesses is unsafe.
The request is therefore that the Government maintains the position, which was in January ingested . In it, the government argued that restriction of encryption at this time is not desirable. This includes the deliberate application of weaknesses. The reference in the motion is that the government this position internationally and continues to propagate within the EU. This made the Netherlands for at a European consultation on encryption.
The government is not obliged to actually perform a motion, this means only serves to take up a position on a particular topic.Viewing:-38
