It all started five years ago – in 2013, several dozen smartphones for the first time received support for technology Quick Charge. It allowed for 40% to accelerate charging. But a year later engineers announced the second generation of QC – together with a Snapdragon 800 processor.

How fast charging occurs
The capacity of modern lithium-ion batteries depends on the imagination of the manufacturer – it can be as high as 1,500 mAh, and 9,000 mAh. For such a battery, the rated voltage varies between 3.5 – 3.7 V, and the maximum reaches 4.2 V.

The process of charging a smartphone battery consists of two stages. First of all, the device is charged with a large current until the voltage reaches a threshold value. QC 3.0 has been supported by INOV, an intelligent voltage selection technology that also accelerates charge recharging. The main “chip” – in the collection of voltages individually for each device (from 3.2 volts to 20 volts). It supports many modern smartphones – Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 , HTC U11 , NOKIA 6 , LG V30 + and others.

But Quick Charge version 4.0 allows just five minutes to charge the smartphone so much that it lasts for five hours of the device. True, now in the world only one smartphone has its support – a game phone Razer Phone. Over time, LG G7 will join it.

Not only Quick Charge

Is it safe?

At the moment, the researchers rely on existing battery tests and agree that the battery life in the constant fast charge mode drops. But if you do not charge the smartphone quickly, the battery effects will be negligible.
