How to receive SMS messages on your iPad and Mac using your iPhone

Few people know, but you can send and receive SMS directly to the iPad or Mac. The only condition for this is the iPhone nearby and the “Redirect” option is enabled. Let us dwell on this in more detail.

As you know, all dialogs in iMessage are synchronized between devices via iCloud. However, for obvious reasons, this does not apply to SMS messages. Fortunately, this problem is now solved – if you activate the “Forwarding” option.

For the function to work, you must have a device with an installed version of iOS not lower than 8.1. The minimum threshold for Mac computers is OS X Yosemite . Of course, everything should work under the same account Apple ID and iMessage.

How to turn it on?

Launch the “Settings” on your iPhone.
Go to the “Messages” section, then select “Forwarding”

A list of all connected devices appears.

It remains only to activate the toggle switch in front of the necessary iPad or a Mac computer.
You will be prompted for the confirmation code on the selected device.
After the check, the option will be activated.
All is ready. It remains only to test the function in the case.
