If you have already installed on your Mac OS X new 10.10 Yosemite , you probably have experienced problems running some applications. Many programs have not yet got the support of the new operating system as it is in beta and the official release may be subject to significant changes. But what to do if you urgently need to open an unsupported OS X Yosemite application? Fortunately, there’s an easy way to do it.

For example, one of the most well-known applications, which refuses to run on OS X Yosemite – a cross-platform messenger Viber. When you try to open system shows just such a mistake.


One of our readers suggested a way to run such programs. We decided to check it out and were pleasantly surprised: Viber is actually started.

Sequence of actions is simple: go to the section “Programs”, then look for the application you want to run. Right click and click “Show Package Contents”.

Go to the folder Contents, then – in a folder MacOS, where the file is “Terminal” with the name of your application. Run it and enjoy your favorite program! Terminal window can be minimized.


In the same way, you can run Final Cut Pro and other unsupported applications.
