HP launches passively cooled laptop thickness of 15,7mm




HP has announced the EliteBook Folio 1020. This is a business laptop with a thickness of 15,7mm and an Intel Core M processor, which is passively cooled. The laptop with 12.5 “screen comes in versions with resolutions of 1920×1080 and 2560×1440 pixels.

According to HP refers to the ‘thinnest and lightest business notebook’ so far. The laptop appears in a regular version and a Special Edition: First weighs 1.2kg and the last will be around 1kg. The housing is wedge-shaped and made of a magnesium alloy, in combination with carbon fibers.

The laptop is certified to MIL-STD 810G standard and need to shock, humidity and pressure resistant. Further supports the EliteBook Intel vPro business platform and a 2.0 rpm module include storage of passwords and encryption keys.

HP also makes mention of the presence of a webcam with 720p resolution and two speakers in the front that support the playback of high-definition audio with DTS for videoconferencing. Many more details HP do not release on the laptop. The EliteBook Folio 1020 will be available early 2015.
