New HP logo Both companies are about the same size and should have a clearer focus. In total, some 55 000 people lose their jobs at the fork, the majority of which has already been fired. The company announced the split just over a year ago, on October 6, 2014. The business branch, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, is Meg Whitman, former CEO of the ‘old’ HP, at the helm; HP Inc. branch has Dion Weisler as new CEO.
Of the business branch and the consumententak it is expected that they will each generate annual revenues of around $ 50 billion. The reason why HP made this step is that the business after the purchase of Compaq in 2002 for 25 billion dollar slid further and further. The CEO who made the step to take over Compaq, is Carly Fiorina. She is now in the running to become a presidential candidate for the Republicans.
