HTC announces first own game for VR headset Vive

HTC has announced his first game for his VR headset Vive. It is a shooter named Front Defense, showing the Taiwanese hardware maker next week at Computex hardware exhibition, which takes place in Taiwan.

HTC has few details and no gameplay footage released by Front Defense. It is according to the manufacturer for a shooter that takes place in a war situation. In addition, players need to work with classic weapons, including rifles and anti-tank missiles.

It is the first time that HTC is developing a game. Until now, the manufacturer made purely hardware in the form of smartphones, tablets and Vive. It also makes software, including especially apps and services for its own phones. It was once called a private game for Windows Mobile and Android later. Teeter is a game where a ball should be routed around obstacles to a hole and was mainly intended to show the possibilities of the new rollover sensors in phones.

Taiwanese hardware maker also announced a fund of one hundred million euros, which it wants to invest in tools and apps developers who want to make the Vive called Vive X. HTC released the Vive this spring. The manufacturer supplies the VR headset with two controllers. Users are in a pre-defined virtual space and two hanging cupboards constant track the position of the user in the room. This allows buyers Vive limited walking around in the virtual world.
