It will be for the management of HTC have been an eye-opener: a top executive replaced the old HTC smartphone of his daughter for the One mini 2, which was released earlier this year. The One mini 2 is common on older models, such as a better screen, faster software and a metal case. Where the daughter turned out to be particularly happy with? The front camera of the One mini 2 revealed a lot better than the old model.

HTC is one of the first who realized that after Huawei masses you can sell phones by putting on an impressive front camera. Actually it is quite logical: the camera is several years one of the most distinguishing factors of a telephone. Manufacturers, however, thought mainly to cameras at the back, while many users at that time were more accurate self-portraits with the front camera.

Meanwhile, many manufacturers have a phone with focus on the front camera in their range: Samsung Galaxy A5, Sony Xperia his C3 and Microsoft Lumia 735. Each piece not the most expensive model, but features a relatively good camera to the front side. The new king of the apes rock in this area is HTC. It not only placed a 13-megapixel camera on the back of his aircraft, but also at the front. Therefore there is a giant screen above the eye, and thus seems to be immediately explained why this unit is named Desire Eye.

But even when taking self-portraits is not your hobby, the Desire Eye is an interesting device. It has many of the metal components of the One (M8) and puts it in a waterproof, plastic housing. Is this phone worth considering?
