Find a Question:
HTC puts ‘Service Pack’ in Play Store shortly before notices New One
HTC has an unknown app called ServicePackFiles released in the Play Store. Even HTC’s home screen alternative Blink Feed is in the download store. HTC is doing that on the day when it presents the successor to the current HTC One.
It is unclear where the Service Pack is, but presumably contains the app updates to HTC’s own Sense interface, the name of the app is com.htc.sense.hsp. For now the app seems incompatible with all devices that Tweakers tested, except one: a converted cat HTC HD2 with Android. Include the current HTC One and other recent HTC are not compatible.
Besides the Service Pack HTC has the new version of Blink Feed already put into the Play Store. So HTC can make adjustments to Blink Feed without updating the firmware. Other manufacturers brought for that reason already own apps in the Play Store, including Sony and Motorola. These apps can only be installed on compatible devices.
The icons for the new apps betrayed something of the graphic style that HTC uses. Both are round, green icons with a white border. HTC presents its new smartphone for four hours Dutch time. The device appeared frequently in recent weeks in the rumor mill.
