Huawei CEO puts first photo successor Ascend P6 online




A CEO of Huawei has a photo of the successor to the Ascend Online P6 placed. The device, called Ascend P6S will get, will run on a processor octacore MediaTek, says the CEO through Chinese social media.

The photo, by the CEO placed on China’s largest social media site Weibo, shows half of a smartphone from Huawei with transparent notification bar, but otherwise little to draw from the image. The Ascend P6S would have a octacore processor, probably a Mediatek MTK6592. The Ascend P6 runs on Huaweis own soc K3V2.

When Huawei presents the successor is unclear: in January’s Consumer Electronics Show CES while following telecom exhibition Mobile World Congress in February. On both exchanges has presented new models Huawei last year. The Chinese smartphone maker announced the Ascend P6 to a private event in june.

Other features of the Ascend P6S, such as how big the screen is and how high the resolution, are still unclear. It is unknown whether the new 4G smartphone will support: the P6 is not standard. Huawei together with include LG and several other Chinese manufacturers such as Lenovo, embroiled in a battle for third place in the global smartphone market. Many manufacturers provide between 10 and 13 million smartphones per quarter.
