Huawei Honor 5c shows cheap metal casing and fingerprint scanner

Huawei has presented the Honor 5c in China, a smartphone with metal casing, fingerprint scanner and fullhd display for converted about 135 euro. The device runs on its own soc from the manufacturer.

Huawei says that the Kirin 650 from the Honor 5c lets make a 16nm FinFET-process. This indicates that the SOC is from the factories of TSMC. The SOC is a octacore, with four Cortex A53 cores at 2GHz and four A53 cores at 1.7GHz. The GPU is a Mali T830 from ARM. The memory has a size of 2GB, while Huawei 16GB EMMC 5.1 Storage has built.

The device has an LCD with a diagonal of 5.2 “and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The phone has a fingerprint scanner at the back of the metal housing, such as Huawei seems to be built into almost all models. The unit has room for two SIM cards. the battery in the 147,1×73,8×8,3mm-sized phone has a capacity of 3000mAh.

Huawei brings Honor 5c Thursday in China. The 4G version costs 999 yuan, converted currently around 135 euros and VAT would amount to 163 euros. There is also a slightly cheaper version without 4G. Huawei spends most of Honor devices also in the Benelux, but an introduction of this model is still unknown.
