Huawei is less cheap smartphones

Huawei is going to make less expensive models in its smartphone lineup. The head of the international press affairs said that the Chinese company will no longer compete on relatively small profit margins, but will plunge instead on high-end devices.

Huawei Huawei realizes that the sales by their change in strategy is likely to fall, says CEO Joe Kelly in an interview with The Seattle Times. Now that is already happening: the supplies in the summer months increased compared to the same period last year with less than a quarter, but the supply of high-end models doubled.

Huawei will no longer focus on the market in which the profit is made from a plurality of low margins. Huawei wants to distinguish itself in the field of network technology: the company makes its own socs and modem chips.

The change in strategy was motivated by the emergence of rival Xiaomi. Smartphone vendor is also from China and the company has since captured a large market share. The success would lie mainly in the relatively low price of their devices, while the specifications are considered high end. A market researcher recently found that Xiaomi Samsung in China was surpassed when it came to the number of aircraft sold.

Huawei has recently some cheaper devices for the Dutch market announced under its new merknaan Honor. For example, recently the 6 Honor and Honor 3c appeared.
