Huawei Huawei realizes that the sales by their change in strategy is likely to fall, says CEO Joe Kelly in an interview with The Seattle Times. Now that is already happening: the supplies in the summer months increased compared to the same period last year with less than a quarter, but the supply of high-end models doubled.
Huawei will no longer focus on the market in which the profit is made from a plurality of low margins. Huawei wants to distinguish itself in the field of network technology: the company makes its own socs and modem chips.
The change in strategy was motivated by the emergence of rival Xiaomi. Smartphone vendor is also from China and the company has since captured a large market share.
