Huawei Mate S sells pressure-sensitive touchscreen now in Europe. Among other Dutch and Belgian consumers can buy the smartphone. The device has a screen of 5.5 “and a Hisilicon Kirin 935-soc.

Mate S appeared in the European Huawei online store with a price of nearly 800 euros. Therefore the buyer gets the version with 128GB of storage memory. There is also a version with 64GB, but it contains no pressure sensitive touchscreen; Huawei calls this technology ‘press touch. This makes it possible to couple different functions depending on whether a user pushes up or down on the screen. Huawei announced the Mate S with touch-sensitive screen last year in September. Then let the Chinese company still know that there would be no version for the Benelux. Since the company is therefore returned.

With the press touch technology is inter alia possible to preview pictures, zoom in or even use the smartphone as scale. Apple has with 3D Force Touch and Touch developed a similar technology. Incidentally, Huawei screen can also recognize knuckles, something the company calls Knuckle-Touch 2.0.

The software’s Mate S is based on Android 5.1 by on top of Huawei’s own Emui Skins. The 5.5 “screen is based on AMOLED and has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The SOC has eight cores which are clocked at 2.2GHz or 1.5GHz, and there is a 13-megapixel camera at the back. The ram is 3GB and the battery capacity is 2700mAh. There is a built-in fingerprint scanner that the smartphone can be unlocked and various apps can be controlled, including the camera.
