HyperloopTT demonstrates hyperloop capsule that can be used next year

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has created a pod on true size, which people fit into. The hyperloop capsule of 32 meters long is made in Spain and according to the company next year can be used in practice.

HyperloopTT calls its capsule Quintero One and has demonstrated it in Spain, where it was also manufactured. The capsule is 32 meters long and the part for passengers on the inside is 15 meters long. Many technical details do not give HyperloopTT the pod and it is not known how many people fit into it.

However, the company says that the capsule weighs five tons and consists of 82 sheets of carbon fiber. The capsule would be almost entirely made of Vibranium, which is the brand name of a ‘smart’ material consisting of several layers of carbon fiber with sensors.

The capsule is made by Airtificial, a Spanish company that has expertise in building parts for Airbus and Boeing, among others. Now that the capsule is ready, it is sent to the head office of HyperloopTT in France. There the pod will be further finished and everything will be prepared for use in practice.

The company states that the capsule will be ready for use in practice sometime next year. Where and when the capsule can actually be used on a hyperloop path is not yet clear. The company has several projects worldwide. For example, in June it said it had an agreement to build China’s first hyperloop system. That will start with a distance of 10km. A similar agreement was previously concluded with the United Arab Emirates . In France, HyperloopTT works on a full-scale test track .
