IDC expects more severe decline in personal computers for the current year shipments




Market research firm IDC expects to see personal computers for 2015 shipments declined more sharply because of a large inventory of portable computers and the impact of the high value of the dollar, and said that demand will not be stable until 2017.

IDC predicts that personal computers this year’s shipments will fall by 8.7%, compared to 6.2% had been predicted by earlier.

The company said it had expected to be the second quarter of this year transition period with the processing of personal computers for the manufacture of the new operating system Windows 10 companies during the second half of the year.

In the region, the report pointed released by IDC last June, to the computer personal computer market in the Middle East and Africa saw a decrease of 9.6% in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period last year, reaching shipments to the region 4.3 million units .

The company attributed the weak performance of the market to currency fluctuations in a number of key markets in the region as well as the continued volatility of world oil prices.

Foundation research has shown decline laptops shipments by 9.4% to 2.7 million units and fell desktop computer shipments increased by 10.0% to 1.6 million units.

IDC noted that the first of the biggest selling computer hardware companies three centers were little changed again, where the first three companies have seen annual growth in spite of the large overall decline in the market.

And continued “HP” issued in terms of market share it has achieved a growth rate of 6.5% on an annual basis, while Lenovo has maintained its second place with a growth of 5.3%.
