IDC: Indian market one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in Asia and the Pacific




Market research firm IDC published IDC new report, which refers to the Indian market regarded as one of the fastest smartphones growing markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with the number of shipments of approximately 103.6 million smartphones during 2015, and an increase of 28.8 percent compared with 2014 .

The new report indicates that he was shipped 25.6 million smartphones in India in the fourth quarter of 2015, an increase of 15.4 percent compared with 2014, where were shipped 22.2 million phones in the country during the same period.

The smart phone shipments saw sequential declines in the last quarter of the year, similar to last year, so shipments fell by 11.9 percent compared to the previous quarter.

He said Karthik G chief market analyst and client computers in a statement that “the share of electronic retailer continues its way towards the decline in terms of smart phone shipments, as the fourth quarter of 2015 saw a huge sales to the largest retailers such as Flipkart and Snabdiall and Amazon.”

He Karthik “now share rose to 37.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015, and multiplied by 2.5 times compared with the same period last year.”

The report added that the Chinese smartphone market has started to walk slowly, and most vendors including Chinese vendors are finding new ways to take advantage of the large growth in the Indian market for smart phones capabilities.

He said Jaipal Singh, a market analyst and client computers “Chinese vendors for smartphones shipments increased during the fourth quarter of 2015 by 71 percent compared with last year.”

He said Singh “prefers the Chinese market smart phones on others for a variety of reasons and key factors such as quality and large discounts from e-tailers and high standards at lower prices, especially in the price range between $ 100 and $ 300.”

The analyst said with regard to making a campaign in India “Make in India” that nearly half of the smartphones that were shipped in the fourth quarter of 2015 were manufactured in India in partnership with Samsung leading company in terms of number of shipments.

Smart phones that support fourth-generation networks, as shipments rose to 13.9 million 4G phone, which represents more than half of the market shipments in the fourth quarter of 2015.

He pointed Karthik “exceeded smartphones supporting networks fourth generation 4G shipments for the first time during the last quarter of the size of smartphones supporting third-generation 3G shipments.”
