IDC lowered its forecast for shipments of tablets




Affected by the tablets with the emergence of a new type of devices such as smart watches alvabelt

Lowered company IDC research and studies of market forecasts for shipments of tablets for 2013 and beyond, due to the emergence of some competing technologies, such as smart phones with large screens and wearable technology devices such as watches and glasses.

The company has lowered its expectations of 1 percent to 229.3 million to 227.4 million Tablet expected shipment this year.

This effect extends to the expectations of the IDC for the years 2014-2017, the company said that the tablets shipped in 2017 will reach 407 million in low esteem, which reached 410 million units.

The report said that the figures for the second quarter were lower than expected significantly owing to a lack of advertising for computers & Tablet PCs, which means that the second half of the year constitutes an important stage which should see improved shipments of tablets, especially during the holidays, the end of the year.

The report focused on the importance of the rise of new types of devices in the negative impact on growth of tablets, notably the “tablet” phones or what is known as “alvabelt”, a smart phones with large screens, which is a mix between a phone and a Tablet PC. In addition to the emergence of peripherals that can link to smart phones such as smart watches.

The study predicted that the continuing decline in average prices of tablets with the emergence of companies that manufacture cheap tablets which are highly popular in the market despite the low quality and poor utilization of experience, according to IDC.
