IKEA offers soon “smart” lighting on

In the field of smart home illumination, there are now a large field of possibilities. From beginner to professional, from cheap to expensive, and more. Now the Swedish equipment giant IKEA enters the dance, which elicited earlier the opportunities of smart apartment with technical devices. On October 1, 2016 IKEA introduces a new smart lighting collection, initially only in the four pilot markets Sweden, Czech Republic, Italy and Belgium. All other countries in Europe and North America are expected to introduce the collection April 2017th

The collection of IKEA encompasses LED lamps, LED light panels and doors with LED lighting. This is to plug and play solutions that make it possible to adjust the lighting by dimming and switching from warm to cold light in three steps. Thus one here has no complete color gamut, as in other solutions is often the case.

The IKEA lighting collection includes TRÅDFRI LED lamps and remote control, FLOALT LED light panels and Surte and JORMLIEN doors with LED lighting for BESTÅ cabinets and Metod kitchen cabinets.

An electrician is not needed, the existing lamps must be replaced only against a TRÅDFRI LED lamp. As the technology to change the individual colors of light or dim the light, is in the air, to TRÅDFRI can use with a standard version in any light – so even in very old lamps. With a remote control TRÅDFRI then up to ten light sources can be operated.

IKEA sees himself by his own admission is not surprising in the “smart home” business great potential. In the coming years it will therefore be further introductions of products, with which people can expand their “smart home” solution. Here one must of course see what IKEA does “smart”. A remote-controlled lighting for many smart, of course – for Techblog reader but is it really just a lamp with three stages and a remote control – and therefore anything but new.
