Images on the internet seem to show the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini, a new mini console from the Japanese company that has been rumored for some time. Among other things, you can see how the ports for the controllers are hidden.

The images show a miniconsole in the shape of the Nintendo 64, with which the design continues the line that Nintendo followed with its NES Classic and SNES Classic . As with the SNES Classic, the ports for the controllers are located behind a flap that should give the impression that the original ports are present. With the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini there would be four vertical ports, if the images turn out to be authentic.

On Reddit is doubted that authenticity of the images, which originally appeared on Twitter. For example, the attachment of the cover is judged to be too fragile and the Nintendo logo for a representative copy should be shown in gray and not in white. At the same time, users recognize that it is a cleverly created render, if it is fake.

Rumor has been rumored that Nintendo wants to release the N64 in a mini version. Last summer, it turned out that Nintendo had filed applications for trademark rights with regard to an N64 controller at the European Union Intellectual Property Office, in a similar way to the NES Classic and SNES Classic controllers. The designs of these controllers then appeared on the packaging of these miniconsoles, including TechSpot .

Nintendo announced the NES Classic in June 2016 and the SNES Classic in July 2017 . The company has not yet reported anything about the possible arrival of an N64 Classic.
