Immersion – gaming headset, the overwhelming anger

Designer Samuel Matson invented a device that reads the biometric indicators and suppresses anger particularly aggressive players during heated battles in video games.

The device, called Immersion, looks like a headset and reads biometric Player (heart rate), and then on the basis of these parameters changes the picture of what is happening on-screen events. From the words of the designer, the device is used in tandem with a special modified controller Xbox, which is set in the pulse sensor for reading the heart rate and provide visual and tactile feedback during a gaming session.

In earphone headset equipped with an optical pulse sensor that reads the heart rate as a player and every minute check for changes in the color of the ear canal for more accurate information. When we are nervous, we begin to blush, as due to the increased heart rate increased blood pressure.

To test the prototype device Matson developed a simple shooter based on the game engine Unity Center Bootcamp, able to interpret the data obtained from the pulse sensor. The essence of the device lies in the fact that when the heart rhythm player has normal parameters and, consequently, the player himself is calm, the game under it adapts and displays the weaker opponents and in smaller amounts. But when the player annoyed and his heart rate increased, the sensor delivers the right team and the game gets a lot harder, bringing the player more powerful opponents and in greater numbers.

According to Matson, so players will pour out his wrath on virtual opponents, rather than real people in real life. The full presentation device Immersion is available on a page designer .
