Prices of electronics stores in Moscow stabilized and in some positions began to decline, according to TASS with reference to the results of an independent monitoring conducted by the analytical division of the Department of Information Technology (DIT) of the Russian capital.


“As a result of measuring fluctuations in consumer prices in the area of ​​information and communication technologies from 8 December to 12 January, the overall increase was about 15%. However, in the period from December 25 to January 12, prices began to stabilize following the correction of exchange rates, and on some categories of goods actually fell, “- said the department.

Thus, the average cost of budget smartphone in late December – early January fell by 3.1% to 8 inches tablet with Wi-Fi and LTE – 10.3%. Fastest holidays became cheaper TVs. The price of televisions less than 32 inches fell by 10.4% to more than 32 inches devices – by 16.5%, and HDTVs – by 16.8%.

The cost of most telecommunications services in early January, contrary to analysts, has not changed. Operators continue to keep prices down to a pay television, cell phones and mobile internet, despite the industry’s high dependence on foreign equipment. From 8 December to 12 January a slight price increase was noted only in the broadband access services, the average price of Internet access increased by 3.8%, the biggest internet rose at a rate of less than 10 Mbit / s – 8.9%. In this case, a line of operators are gradually disappearing extra-tariffs.
