Increase in number of mobile Proximus subscribers compensates departure prepaid not

Proximus added 34,000 mobile subscribers in the quarter, but did leave 38,000 prepaid users. The provider managed to sell more TV and internet subscriptions. This growth, combined with a cost reduction gave the company a profit increase.

Proximus logo HQ Although Proximus 34,000 more mobile subscriptions delivered in the last quarter, the number of prepaid customers decreased by 38,000. Because Proximus less roaming deserves since lowering roaming tariffs in April, revenue from mobile decreased by 1.6 percent. The number of fixed line customers declined firm, with 27,000 to 2.7 million. The growth in the number of TV subscribers amounted to 18,000, which the provider has 1.8 million TV customers. As regards internet growth was 14,000; Proximus now has 1.9 million Internet customers in Belgium.

The number of customers that purchase three or four services of Proximus, rose by 11,000 to 1.3 million. This triple- or quad-play customers now form 46 percent of the total customer base. Proximus knew to make more profit: 160 million euros compared to 69 million euros in the same period last year. This was mainly due to the reduction of the costs, including those for personnel.
