ING will support NFC payments with smartphones

The Dutch bank ING will support NFC payments via smartphones. This makes the bank announced via an interview in the AD. When an app is to pay with your smartphone, ING is still in the middle.

ING has in recent years have experimented with contactless payments via smartphones and offers all bank cards with NFC, but had not confirmed so far that it will support the payment via smartphones. The bank said in the AD not when it will support NFC payments with smartphones.

Rabobank is probably rather with support for NFC payments. According to the AD starts the previously announced test with 100,000 users of Samsung Galaxy S4 or Note 3 in the coming weeks. The intention is that the bank will then add support for more different devices. Whether the banks payments with iPhone 6 models from Apple Pay will support, they have not been confirmed.

Payments via smartphones are possible thanks to NFC, the chip is in many smartphones for data transfer over short distances. NFC mobile payments must have a secure component to ensure that security is adequate. Payment via NFC in phones now seems to break, but it is not a new development. The first trial in the Netherlands took place in 2007 .
