InkCase i6: another attempt to turn the iPhone 6 YotaPhone




Company popSLATE – not the only one who decided to turn the iPhone into a kind of 6 YotaPhone. New Case of dual-use presented a California company OAXIS. Accessory called InkCase i6 is designed to extend the functionality of “apple” flagship, taking advantage of the technology E-Ink.


Liquid crystal displays used in smartphones and tablets, are cheaper than the screen, made by technology “electronic ink”. However, their functionality is much broader – thanks to high frame rates and the possibility of displaying millions of colors. At the same time due to the constant flickering and bright illumination of continuous operation, even with the high-quality TFT-screen can be uncomfortable, besides the LCD panel consumes a relatively large amount of electricity. Display, the technology “electronic ink» (E-Ink), devoid of these shortcomings.



InkCase i6 is a separate module with a monochrome screen and built-in battery. To communicate with the iPhone 6 is a wireless connection Bluetooth. With the help of related applications, you can customize the display of certain information – current tasks, time, stock quotes, weather forecast. In addition, E Ink panel can be used to read text or display photos. Also, as in the case of YotaPhone, Case allows long as he wants to keep before the eyes of the desired image – energy is expended only when you change the image.



Last year Yota Devices tried to ban the sale in Russia electronic covers for smart phones with an additional E-Ink-screen TV. Appropriate suit manufacturer YotaPhone filed in the Moscow Arbitration Court. What the outcome is unknown, but Yota Devices convinced that such accessories infringe the patent of the company to develop the device with two displays.
