Innodisk reveals m2 video card

Innodisk brings a m2 video card on the market. The small plug-in card is capable of displaying images in 4k resolution with a refresh rate of 30 hertz and 1080p on 60 hertz. Output goes through hdmi, lvds and dvi-d.

For the outputs, the card has headers on board that most likely connect to output slots intended for the back of a computer enclosure. According to AnandTech , this 2280 m2 card has a chip based on the Silicon Motion SM768 controller . That would mean that the gpu has up to 256MB of memory and a 128bit-2d engine. The video decoder supports h264 mvc / avs +, h263, mpeg 4, mpeg 2, m-jpeg, real video, vc-1 and theora. The interface is pci-e 2.0 x1 / x2 or usb 3.0. However , there are no technical details in the announcement itself , so it may be that this information will prove to be different.

With the card Innodisk focuses on the industrial embedded sector , but for the consumer the video card can also be interesting. For example, although Intel processors often have an integrated video chip, this does not apply to AMDs competing Ryzen CPUs. Who wants to use such a Ryzen system, but does not want to go with a conventional video card, could find a solution in this device. A price for the m2 video card is not yet known, nor is it clear when it is exactly in the hands of the consumer.
