The Image and Video Sharing Service Instagram today announced support for 2-step verification , as well as a new feature that shows ” sensitive ” unclear images in an effort to make the service “safer, more childish.”

“Last September, we promised our users to keep Instagram a safe place for everyone and build tools to protect self-expression on our platform,” said Kevin Sistrom, co-founder and co-founder of Instagram. We will continue this year to work on our commitment, and we will also focus on promoting kindness. ”

Sistrom added that a screen will soon appear on “sensitive” images and videos when it appears on the homepage or visits its publisher profile. He explained that the standard in the development of this screen depends on reviews and reports on those images and videos.

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, explained that the purpose of this feature is to protect users from unwanted content, with the possibility to show those images and videos by clicking on the option that appears at the bottom of the screen, and confirms the user’s desire to see it.

Instagram, which has more than 600 million active users per month, has added 2-step verification to all its users, adding an extra layer of protection that requires the user to enter the code sent to their mobile phone after entering the password, In case the hacker gets the password.

2-Step Verification
The new features come a day after Instagram announced that more than 1 million active advertisers use its platform monthly, which it said jumped from 2,000,000 in the same period last year.

“We now have 8 million businesses using personal profiles for businesses, with businesses in the United States, Brazil, Indonesia, Russia and the United Kingdom leading the list,” the company said Wednesday in a statement.

They also come three days after Instagram adds the ability to save live streaming videos to the device memory for later viewing or sharing on other platforms.
